Diamonds 'n Denim Linedancers is owned by instructor, Diane Andrews. Di has current membership with/and is Vice President of Masters and the Independent Linedancers Association (M.A.T.I.L.D.A.)
Diamonds 'n Denim has a strong commitment to encouraging beginners and thus promoting linedancing. With 3 beginner classes each week, our beginners learn quickly, and correctly, in a fun environment. It is through beginners that linedancing will live on into future years.
In 2008 we have 3 main venues for classes. North Haven Bowling and Recreation Club is our Monday venue. The club is very supportive of our classes/socials and Diamonds 'n Denim is proud to be a part of their regular entertainment facilities. NHBC maintains very high standards equal to any city counterpart.
The Guide Hall in Hollingworth Street, Port Macquarie was built in the 1950's and has a wonderful hardwood sprung floor. The hall has been completely refurbished and is in full use by a variety of groups as well as the very strong local guiding movement. It has an old fashioned supper room attached to the main hall and a full kitchen and facilities which can cater for large groups. Ideal for linedance socials! Location is only a block away from the heart of Port Macquarie. The hall is at the end of a quiet street alongside Kooloonbung Creek in a bushland park setting with plenty of off-road parking. If you are in the area and want to pop in for a surprise visit, turn at Red Rooster on the roundabout! It's that easy to find.
North Haven Community hall in Ocean Drive in the heart of the shopping centre, right on the Camden Haven river. Likewise the hall has a great hardwood floor and there's plenty of free parking.
Socials are also held from time to time at Kendall, either at the historic Community Hall or at Kendall Services club, and on occasions at Laurieton United Services Club.
Diamonds 'n Denim is a provider in our area for Hastings Active & Older. We aim to promote good health by fun exercise through linedancing, including seniors in our community. Many of our dancers are over 60 and very fit. They maintain their fitness through linedancing while enjoying the company of friends. Diamonds 'n Denim is not exclusively "a seniors group". We cater for all ages and all levels of dance. The main benefit of linedancing as compared to other forms of dance is that you don't need a partner. LINEDANCING is FUN! It's also great exercise and it's health benefits are recognised by the medical profession as highly beneficial to maintaining a healthy heart. The degree of exercise depends on the individual and linedancing can be as vigorous or as mild a form of exercise as you want it to be.
